College Knowledge Foundation (CKF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering high school students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority students, as well as veterans, adult learners, and foster youth—by providing the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their college journey. Through our comprehensive sessions and personalized services, we bridge the gap between high school and college so every student, regardless of background, can achieve their educational goals.

Position Description

As a Social Media Engagement Specialist Intern at College Knowledge Foundation, you will be responsible for increasing engagement across our various social media platforms by interacting with our audience, monitoring post performance, and analyzing insights to help guide strategy. You will also be responsible for helping ensure that the content we share is engaging and connects with our audience. This role works closely with the Social Media Coordinator and the broader marketing team to align content strategy with engagement trends. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys building digital communities and is passionate about connecting with others in meaningful ways.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with followers on all active social media platforms by liking, commenting, sharing, and responding to direct messages

  • Monitor audience interaction and trends to identify what content resonates most

  • Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to align content planning with engagement insights

  • Help ensure posts are compelling, engaging, and audience-centered

  • Track social media metrics such as reach, impressions, shares, comments, and saves

  • Compile weekly or monthly engagement reports to highlight trends and growth areas

  • Support the development of strategies that boost interaction and visibility (e.g., polls, questions, giveaways)

  • Stay informed on digital engagement best practices and social media algorithms

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to maintain a consistent and engaging voice across platforms

Hours

The weekly time commitment is negotiable and flexible. Most team meetings occur in the late afternoon Eastern Time to accommodate members’ full-time jobs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various social media platforms and audience engagement tools

  • Strong written communication skills and a natural, friendly digital tone

  • Attention to detail and consistency in online interactions

  • Interest in social media trends, digital marketing, or community building

  • Experience with analytics tools or a willingness to learn (e.g., Meta Insights, TikTok Analytics)

  • Ability to work independently and share performance insights with the team
