College Knowledge Foundation (CKF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering high school students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority students, as well as veterans, adult learners, and foster youth—by providing the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their college journey. Through our comprehensive sessions and personalized services, we bridge the gap between high school and college so every student, regardless of background, can achieve their educational goals.

Position Description

As a Social Media Coordinator Intern at College Knowledge Foundation, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and publishing content across our digital platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with the content creator, graphic designer, and marketing director to ensure timely and engaging posts that align with our mission and branding. You will also work closely with the Social Media Engagement Specialist to ensure your content is not only published consistently but performs well with our audience. This position is ideal for someone who is creative, organized, and passionate about using social media to drive awareness and engagement around educational equity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a consistent content calendar across various social media platforms

  • Draft and schedule social media content in collaboration with the graphic design and content teams

  • Ensure all posts follow the organization’s voice, brand, and mission

  • Coordinate with the Social Media Engagement Specialist to review engagement and adjust content strategies accordingly

  • Support the creation of campaign concepts for events, awareness initiatives, and special projects

  • Adapt content for different formats including visual graphics, videos, and written posts

  • Monitor trends in digital engagement and recommend improvements

  • Work closely with other members of the marketing team to maintain a cohesive and professional online presence

  • Track content output and reflect on general performance insights using platform analytics

Hours

The weekly time commitment is negotiable and flexible. Most team meetings occur in the late afternoon Eastern Time to accommodate members’ full-time jobs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing or supporting social media content for an organization or project

  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and tone

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Interest in digital communications, marketing, or nonprofit work

  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Google Drive, and content scheduling platforms

  • Awareness of social media trends and basic understanding of audience engagement strategies
