The Operations Team Lead oversees internal systems, assigns projects, and facilitates cross-team coordination to ensure organizational efficiency and alignment.

College Knowledge Foundation (CKF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering high school students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority students, as well as veterans, adult learners, and foster youth—by providing the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their college journey. Through our comprehensive sessions and personalized services, we bridge the gap between high school and college so every student, regardless of background, can achieve their educational goals.

Position Description

As the Operations Team Lead Intern at College Knowledge Foundation, you will oversee and coordinate the work of the Business Operations Team. You will be responsible for assigning tasks, managing timelines, facilitating communication across the team, and ensuring that projects are progressing smoothly. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact between the operations interns and CKF leadership, while also offering support to your peers. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational and leadership skills who wants to develop experience managing team operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven nonprofit environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily and weekly operations for the Business Operations Team, ensuring all tasks are progressing on schedule
• Assign and monitor responsibilities across project management, assistant, and support roles
• Serve as the main liaison between the operations team and CKF leadership, providing regular updates and raising needs or concerns
• Schedule and lead team check-ins to discuss timelines, blockers, and progress
• Ensure strong collaboration with other CKF departments, especially the Marketing and Development teams
• Track team goals and organize documentation for transparency and efficiency
• Support interns in their roles by providing clarification, encouragement, and feedback
• Help maintain ClickUp or other project management tools to track internal progress and assignments
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding of operations team members, ensuring smooth transitions

Hours

The weekly time commitment is negotiable and flexible. Most team meetings occur in the late afternoon Eastern Time to accommodate members’ full-time jobs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous leadership, team lead, or coordination experience (can be from a job, internship, or student organization)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn project management tools like ClickUp, Trello, or Asana
• Ability to motivate, support, and collaborate with peers
• Interest in nonprofit leadership, business operations, or organizational strategy
