College Knowledge Foundation (CKF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering high school students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority students, as well as veterans, adult learners, and foster youth—by providing the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their college journey. Through our comprehensive sessions and personalized services, we bridge the gap between high school and college so every student, regardless of background, can achieve their educational goals.
Position Description
As a Grants Writer Intern at College Knowledge Foundation, you will assist in developing compelling, mission-aligned grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and other institutional donors. Working closely with the Grants Research Intern, Development Team Lead, and other departments, you will help draft narratives, prepare documentation, and adapt application materials to meet specific funder guidelines. This is an ideal role for someone interested in nonprofit development, writing for social impact, or learning how organizations fund their mission-driven work.
Responsibilities
• Assist in drafting and editing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents
• Customize and adapt grant content based on funder requirements and guidelines
• Collaborate with the Grants Research Intern to review funder information and eligibility
• Maintain a library of core documents and boilerplate content (e.g., mission, programming, impact)
• Work with the Impact Reporting Intern and Business Operations team to collect necessary data, budgets, or metrics
• Help proofread and format proposals to ensure clarity, professionalism, and consistency
• Track submitted proposals and support any follow-up correspondence or reporting needs
• Contribute to developing new narratives that tell CKF’s story and highlight its outcomes

Hours
The weekly time commitment is negotiable and flexible. Most team meetings occur in the late afternoon Eastern Time to accommodate members’ full-time jobs.
