The Development Team Lead oversees fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, and outreach efforts while coordinating team projects and supporting sustainable growth strategies.

College Knowledge Foundation (CKF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering high school students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority students, as well as veterans, adult learners, and foster youth—by providing the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their college journey. Through our comprehensive sessions and personalized services, we bridge the gap between high school and college so every student, regardless of background, can achieve their educational goals.

Position Description

As the Development Team Lead Intern at College Knowledge Foundation, you will oversee and support the daily operations of the Development Team, helping to guide interns focused on fundraising, grant writing, data reporting, and outreach. You will coordinate projects, assign tasks, support communication among the team, and serve as the main point of contact between the Development Team and CKF leadership. This is an excellent leadership role for someone with experience in nonprofit work, team management, or development strategy who is looking to grow their skills in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main liaison between the Development Team and CKF leadership
• Assign tasks and projects to development interns based on deadlines and team priorities
• Coordinate team meetings and check-ins to track progress and provide support
• Ensure smooth collaboration between fundraising, grant writing, outreach, and reporting functions
• Review and assist with materials including proposals, campaign outlines, and reports when needed
• Maintain project tracking tools and ensure deadlines are met
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to fellow interns
• Assist in identifying new opportunities for funding, growth, or partnerships
• Report updates to the Director of Development or CKF leadership on a regular basis

Hours

The weekly time commitment is negotiable and flexible. Most team meetings occur in the late afternoon Eastern Time to accommodate members’ full-time jobs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing (through coursework, internships, or volunteer work)
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to guide and motivate a team
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and tracking progress
• Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with Google Drive, spreadsheets, project management tools, and basic fundraising principles
