College Knowledge Foundation (CKF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering high school students—particularly first-generation, low-income, and minority students, as well as veterans, adult learners, and foster youth—by providing the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their college journey. Through our comprehensive sessions and personalized services, we bridge the gap between high school and college so every student, regardless of background, can achieve their educational goals.
Position Description
As a Communications Intern on the Development Team at College Knowledge Foundation, you will support strategic outreach efforts that help grow the organization through partnerships, sponsorships, and donor engagement. You’ll assist in identifying and reaching out to potential collaborators including schools, businesses, community organizations, and mission-aligned partners. This is a great role for someone who enjoys relationship-building, strategic communication, and helping expand an organization’s visibility and impact.
Responsibilities
• Research and identify potential partners, sponsors, and supporters that align with CKF’s mission
• Assist in drafting outreach emails, pitch decks, and introductory materials
• Maintain an outreach tracker to log communication, responses, and follow-up timelines
• Work closely with the fundraising and grant teams to coordinate outreach related to campaigns or funding opportunities
• Help develop materials for sponsorship packages, school collaborations, and partnership proposals
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align partnership messaging across channels
• Support with relationship management by preparing follow-up communications or organizing virtual meetings
• Contribute to the development of strategies to strengthen CKF’s network and reputation within schools and communities

Hours
The weekly time commitment is negotiable and flexible. Most team meetings occur in the late afternoon Eastern Time to accommodate members’ full-time jobs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong communication and writing skills, particularly in a professional tone
• Interest in public relations, nonprofit outreach, or strategic partnerships
• Comfortable reaching out to schools, businesses, and community organizations
• Highly organized and able to manage outreach timelines and follow-up
• Familiarity with Google Drive and outreach tools like email templates or CRMs
• Enthusiastic about CKF’s mission and representing the organization professionally
