About the Session
Financial aid can feel confusing, stressful, and overwhelming, but it does not have to be. This session breaks it all down in a clear, straightforward way so students and families can move forward with confidence. Participants will learn about the different types of financial aid available, including grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and loans, and how each one works. The session walks through how to complete the FAFSA and CSS Profile, how financial aid packages are built, and how to read and compare award letters from different schools. Students and families will also learn strategies for finding scholarships, reducing costs, and understanding the true cost of attendance. The goal is simple: to make sure every family leaves this session feeling informed, supported, and ready to make smart financial decisions about college.
